Racing Against the Clock: Delivering Top-Notch Real Estate Photography Services

You know those clients who think yesterday is already too late? I recently had one of those circumstances.

A client called me at 5:30 pm on a Thursday, and I thought she was joking when she said she needed real estate photography services "yesterday."

Nope, she was dead serious.

We chatted briefly about the project, and I gave her my standard turnaround time – I could have the photos ready by Monday.

That wasn't good enough. She needed them ASAP.

I explained that I could prioritize the project and deliver the photos sooner, but it would require a rush charge. She agreed, and I got to work.

I arrived at the bungalow property in Ocean City, MD the next morning at 8:35 am, camera in hand, and got to work.

From moving furniture to staging rooms, opening blinds and curtains, and even making beds – every detail matters when it comes to capturing the perfect shot.

Getting the right angles in the tight spaces, avoiding blown-out exposures in the windows, and making sure I'm not photobombing any of the shots – all of these details require precision and practice.

These tasks may seem small, but they add up quickly. And when you're working with a tight deadline, every minute counts.

However, the payoff is worth it.

A well-staged room, a perfectly placed throw pillow, and a burst of natural light can make all the difference in showcasing a property's best features.

By 9:55 am, I was done shooting, and by 11:45 am, I had the first round of pictures ready for her review. She picked her favorites, and by 5:30 pm that same evening – exactly 24 hours after her initial call – the project was complete.

Being flexible and willing to go the extra mile (for a price, of course!)

As I gain traction in real estate photography, I've learned that it's not just about pointing a camera and clicking a button.

It's about creating a visual story that showcases a property's unique personality and charm. A set of skills that requires attention to detail, creativity, and a willingness to go the extra mile.
